Like Christmas and birthday combined

That’s it… I spent my luck points for the coming decade, today! Every month when the Porsche Customer Newsletter arrives, they start the conversation with “Treat yourself with something nice, Herr Ueberall!” and I always answer with a polite and eager “OH F*CK YES!”.

Most of the time, the product my heart desires is a limited edition of something fancy. And in most cases it has something to do with the “Rennsau”-livery, or what is internationally better known as the classic “Pink Pig” of the 1971 917/20. I’ll be honest… if I had children, I would try to convince my wife to paint at least one in that exact livery.

The classic #23 Porsche 917/20 from 1971, piloted by Reinhold Joest and Willi Kauhsen.

But always when there is something limited in those newsletters, it is sold out before I have the chance to scream “TAKE MY MONEY!” at my screen. And to appease me, the shop system rejects my euphoria with “Sorry, Herr Ueberall. But you are a valuable customer and we have something special for you instead: what about this 911 992.2 bonnet in Gulf Blue for your office wall?” Hmpf… I usually leave the website with “No thanks, that would clash with the dolby surround system made of an original GT3 RS exhaust, you tried to sell me last month.”

Today was my lucky day! Limited edition Rennsau Porsche x Puma Speedcat Motorsport shoes with the corresponding limited edition Rennsau hoodie. And they were just released to the shop, both available in my size and tucked into my shopping cart. Of course I had to hesitate for a while until my wife said completely annoyed that she is not going to listen to my lamentations again, in case they are sold out before I decide to spend that money.

Oh boi, happy me. Now I expect an “oink” from the footwell, everytime I step on the throttle! And as an extra, they’ll arrive just in time for the opening of the Nordschleife season. 😀
